Global Collaboration
Integrating green chemistry and engineering into the global pharmaceutical supply chain is a primary objective of the Roundtable. The Roundtable has member companies in India and China, and dedicates resources to workshops, conferences and site visits in these countries.
Asian CMO Award
The GCIPR is currently seeking nominations for the inaugural CMO Excellence in Green Chemistry Award! CMO companies in Asian countries are eligible.

Global Partnerships
IQ Consortium
The IQ Consortium is a pharmaceutical and biotechnology association that aims to advance innovation and quality in the biopharmaceutical industry. The ACS GCI Pharmaceutical Roundtable has worked closely with the IQ Green Chemistry Working Group whose focus is on communication and discussion with regulatory agencies on Green Chemistry as well as communicating to the public about green processes and technologies. In collaboration with the IQ Consortium, the Roundtable has developed the Green Aspiration Level metric and tool.

Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Initiative (PSCI)
PSCI is a group of pharmaceutical and healthcare companies who have joined forces to promote responsible supply chain management and better business conditions across the industry. The ACS GCI Pharmaceutical Roundtable has collaborated with PSCI on its India outreach efforts and continues to look for opportunities to collaborate on issues of common concern.
REACH
Is the European Union’s legislative approach to chemicals management and is aimed at protecting human health and the environment through the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of CHemicals. There are a variety of issues associated with the REACH legislation that have significant impacts on the Pharmaceutical industry, especially in the area of solvents. The roundtable has organized around these issues to share best practices and provide industry perspective to legislators as appropriate.
Benchmarking
The ACS GCI Pharmaceutical Roundtable has long recognized the value of benchmarking to track industry efforts at making bulk active pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturing processes greener. Since 2008, the RT has been collecting process mass intensity data on small molecules (MW < 1000) manufacturing processes in all stages of development at least every two years. These data provide an excellent snapshot of industry progress in the implementation of green chemistry and engineering. In recent years, these efforts have been expanded to benchmarking biopharmaceutical processes for the manufacture of large molecules (MABs, ADCs, etc.).
